In the middle of the lively urban streets, right by the creek, is the traditional architectural museum which captures the fascinating Arabian culture and history of Dubai. Beaming through the walls of the museum is the forgone history exhibited through the means of various blueprints and recreational displays.

The museum is split into various portions that exhibit each significant element of the old Dubai. One of the sections starts with a screen display of the traditional tribal dance known as the ‘Ayala dancing’ where the dancers face each other to indicate unity. Then the section continues to exhibit the traditional musical instruments. This is then followed by a weaponry display which also show how the local blacksmiths melded weapons from daggers to cannons.

In another portion of the fort, the wax statues in the different displays illustrated the functioning of the local markets. At that point of time, people sold fish, pearls, aromatic spices, utensils, hand sown baskets and other trinkets. Scenes of the social life from the past are also displayed to highlight the transformation to the current contemporary society of Dubai.
